Hi Craig
Apologies – caught up with a few things and didn’t get the chance to send this.
As mentioned – because of my employment situation you cannot mention my surname in endorsements or advertising for a company but feel free to use this.

Love the people at Jax. I’ve been dealing with a lot of tradies lately and the frustration was beginning to show. Craig from Jax not only turned up on time for the initial quote, the lads who did the job did too. The companies professionalism didn’t stop there…. On Time / no fuss /reasonable price / and a job very well done. I’m a very happy customer and my faith in tradesmen has been restored, thanks to Craig and the team at Jax Concrete service. June from Miranda.

Thanks again. Job well done
June

It all started when we received the most creative piece of marketing we had seen in a long time. This instantly prompted me to call Jax Concreting. Craig was extremely helpful and assisted me with all my queries regarding prices, colours and design. He sent out a number of fantastic information packs that displayed that Jax Concreting was much more than your average concreting business. Throughout the whole process from quote to completion, Craig was on the ball and kept to his promised schedule. Craig and the boys from Jax Concreting were professional, hardworking, honest and reliable. I would not hesitate to use them again for any concreting job we may have in the future. Thanks Craig for finishing off our newly built home with such a fantastic looking driveway!

When installing new driveways or pathways around your home careful should consideration should be taken into account what services lay beneath the area you wish to have concreted.Because 9 times out of ten there

will be something there already such as storm water, gas, phone line, sewer, water main, agriculture lines, sprinkler systems, pool pipes, electrical or even the neighbour hood easement.
Today’s methods and materials and methods for laying down services has changed somewhat and therefore consideration should be taken to update old services or to install non existent services. Concrete is normally a long term product that outlasts all other building materials and as such no body wants to be removing concrete to lay pipe that had been

overlooked when the concrete was installed so when planning your homes concrete surrounds take 5 mins to think ahead of time and foresee services you think you may require down the track for when it comes time for their intended purpose you will be able to give your self a pat on the back for having had the foresight to plan ahead.(even if it justs a conduit to run power to a back shed for some lights)

The most common problem we encounter is old pipes that have been blocked by tree roots.

Because of the way old pipes were made and how they were joined together became a big problem with them becoming blocked.(see example) Fortunately these days those old pipes are replaced

with pvc pipes with benefits over the old such as flexibility, strength, durability, affordability, quick and easy to lay but more importantly they are glued together making it impossible forwandering tree roots get inside them.

The proper placement of reinforcing steel can greatly reduce the strength and life of a structure. A structure fails when it can no longer be used in the manner in which it was intended. Costly repairs and early replacement of structures are too common and are often caused by improper reinforcing steel placement and how to check for proper reinforcement will reduce the need for costly repairs and early replacements of structures.

concrete is strong in compression and weak in tension.Steel however has strength in both tension and compression. In a reinforced concrete structure, the two materials are used together in a manner that will make the best use of the strengths of both.

when the reinforcing steel is placed with less concrete cover than required by design ,the life of the reinforcing steel can be shortened due to corrosion from increased exposure to deicing materials and/or the elements.Corrosion of the reinforcing steel will cause an increase in the diameter of the steel , which will cause the concrete outside the steel to sometimes spall off and the concrete around the reinforcing steel to become deboned from the reinforcing steel. This deboning of the concrete from the reinforcing steel can reduce the strength of the structure by preventing the necessary interaction between the concrete and the reinforcing steel.Proper bonding between the reinforcing steel and the concrete can also be prevented by debris on the bar such as dirt, mud, oil or corrosion when the concrete is poured around it.

Its all in the preparation. Its much easier to take a little more time and pride in your work as,apposed to a slap up approach because when it comes to this kind of work it is very unforgiving. Either your wall is going to stay up right and true or it will end up all over the ground. Now at over 2 tonne per cubic meter its much easier to spend the time and effort to get it right the first time and save your self the embarrassment of a wall that has fallen over that “you will need a jack hammer to clean up” !not to mention the safety issue with a wall that fails and costs involved in rectifying. So who is doing your form work will it hold? or is it a disaster in the making. photos above are of a driveway we have completed in picnic point, the original driveway was sitting on brickwork which we deemed insufficient and replaced it with this concrete drop edge beam.she aint going nowhere.

Please find following a testimonial from my parents, Vince and Leonie Russo of Indus Place, Kearns for the work done on their concrete areas.

I apologise for the delay in getting this to you, they asked me to do this many months ago.

“We would like to thank Jax Concrete for their amazing work on our concrete areas. We are extremely pleased with the results and absolutely love how new and fresh our entire house and outdoor areas look now. We highly recommend Jax to anyone looking to have their concrete areas installed. The team at Jax are truly wonderful. From Vince and Leonie Russo”

Please let me know if you need anything else.
